Because of him, I grew up in an environment where entrepreneurship was never just a concept, it was a way of life. I learned early that capital alone does not build anything meaningful. What truly builds lasting businesses is trust, consistency, sound judgment, and the ability to stay grounded while thinking long term. Those principles continue to guide me today in the way I invest, evaluate opportunities, and build relationships.

Over the years, I have developed my own experience across real estate, finance, family holdings, business development, and private investment. That background has given me a practical understanding of risk, structure, governance, and long-term growth. It has also taught me how to distinguish between what looks attractive on paper and what is genuinely built to endure.

Today, I see myself as a flexible private investor with an approach grounded in trust, discipline, and openness. I do not believe in rigid formulas. Every founder is different, every company has its own reality, and every opportunity deserves to be understood on its own terms. That is why I look at each opportunity with an open mind, while remaining disciplined in the way I assess people, business models, execution, and long-term potential.

What matters most to me is the quality of the people behind a business. When I look at a startup, I pay close attention to the founder, the team, the clarity of the vision, the quality of the product, the market opportunity, the growth potential, the future economics, the discipline of execution, and the timing. I have deep respect for entrepreneurs who take real risks to build something meaningful. I value honesty, ambition, discipline, clarity, loyalty, courage, energy, and the ability to listen and adapt.

My investment philosophy is built on a balance between legacy, business, and innovation. My experience has given me a strong foundation in structured sectors such as real estate, finance, and holdings, where resilience, governance, and capital discipline are critical. At the same time, I remain open to ambitious new ventures, innovative business models, and founders who are building for the future. I am sector-open by nature, because I believe that a strong project should never be overlooked simply because it does not fit into a narrow category.

Family remains central to the way I think. What my father built gave me values, perspective, and a deep sense of responsibility. My own path has been about carrying that foundation forward with my own judgment, my own experience, and my own way of approaching opportunities. Today, that continuity is also reflected in the next generation through my son, Kumar Kataria, who brought an important new dimension to our family vision by opening us further to startup investing and growth-stage opportunities.

That evolution matters to me because it represents a natural bridge between heritage and modernity. We remain committed to the same principles that have always defined our family — long-term thinking, discipline in business, discretion, loyalty, responsibility, and sustainable value creation, while being increasingly open to innovation and entrepreneurial growth. Depending on the opportunity, I invest personally or alongside my family, always with the same level of seriousness and attention to quality.

I do not aim to be the loudest investor in the room, nor the most intrusive. I prefer to be available when needed, while giving founders the space they need to lead and execute. I believe the best investor-founder relationships are built on trust, mutual respect, clear alignment, and the ability to support without suffocating the entrepreneur.

I want to be seen as a family-backed, entrepreneurial, discreet, multi-sector, long-term investor and growth partner. My base is in the UK, but my family background has given me a naturally international perspective. I am comfortable looking beyond one market or one industry, as long as the opportunity is strong, the people are serious, and the long-term potential is real.

If there is one thing I would want founders to take away from my profile, it is this: I am flexible, and I approach every opportunity with openness. I believe in strong people, sound structures, long-term relationships, and businesses that are built with substance.

I am a private investor and serial entrepreneur based in the United Kingdom. My journey is deeply rooted in family, and I believe it would be impossible to explain who I am today without acknowledging the influence of my father, Raghuvinder Kataria.

I was raised with the example of a man who built his path through vision, discipline, courage, and long-term thinking. My father’s entrepreneurial journey, spanning international business, investment, real estate, and value creation across borders, shaped the foundations of the way I think. More than success itself, what he passed on to me was a mindset: understanding that real value is built over time, that reputation matters, that discipline is essential, and that strong decisions are made with patience, clarity, and responsibility.
